Wake Me Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Wake Me

Wake me

Told Gholam to wake me:
"Sharp at five, in morning
When crew is asleep."

Plan was swimming
As if am shark or fish,
Living in gulf and sea.

Had fallen in the soup
Of government, crew!

Was a kidnap, hostage
Thanks to their relations…

Neptune, was company
Registered for fishing.

Owner was nephew of
The Iran's president…

Soviet trawlers
Were availed by Cyprus!

I was told Andrei
Suspected my nation
I felt bad, insulted!

Approved him soon after,
Company and owners
Were expert abusers
And a bunch of liars,
sunk in the corruptions!

Came the day that workers
Chose a corner, murmured,
Made cross on their chests
"No more pain, this is end! "

I, victim, and hostage
Sought a way to scape:
"Sweet home, I return."
