WAITING TO LEAF



Like the leaf on a tree
In the middle of fall
Waiting to be released
Waiting for the time to be let go
Just sittin here waiting for that call
Anxiously awaiting
Can hardly stand it
Wishing a big gust of wind
Would just blow me away
To a different town
To a different state
Release me on my own
Just let me be free
To lie on different ground
Just let me dry up
With a group of new leaves
