TOO BAD, SO SAD

I am so sad, I can hardly smile
She found me after fourteen years
...

I WILL AGAIN STAND STRONG

I’ve been knocked down
...

WAITING TO LEAF
...

LIVING WITH STRANGERS

Started to write this poem then changed my mind
...

THE LETTER

Receiving that letter, it brightens the day
...

THE PRISONER
...

LOCKED UP LOCKS

Prison has forced me to cut my long hair
...

REST-LESS CRIMINALS
...

TO MY FRIEND SEAN
...

IN JAIL SO YOUNG

Jail is no place for me
...

CHANGE OUT TIME

Its change out time, give me new clothes
My socks are smelly
...

FEELINGS THAT TRAVEL

It’s been fourteen years since they’ve spoke
...

COURT TIME

Court time tomorrow, I hope it goes well
...

14.

FAKE

Your silicone smile
...

STRUCTURAL DEFECT

Once a strong bridge built with concrete and steel
...

The lonely man
...

I write these poems to ease my mind
In hopes it’ll do some good
In hopes it’ll shed some light
On this madness I have been through
...

STORM! ! !

It needs to storm, rain like crazy
...

JUST MAKE IT THROUGH

Don’t go through that forest
...

WHAT IF....

Mike Farris Jr. Biography

As you know, my Name is Mike Farris Jr.. I was convicted of a felony for drinking and operating a motor vehicle (Harley-Davidson) , and I was sent to prison in May of 2008 (I am now out) . While serving time in the department of correction I had to find some way of relieving the the mental strain of being locked up, so I decided to write my thoughts in poetry form on paper. I found that this came quite easy to me. most of my poems are revolved around being locked up in the prison system and the prison system itself, however, there are a few poems I wrote that have nothing to do with jail or prison at all. I continue to write poems when something comes to me that I feel worthy of writing about or if I'm just inspired in some way. With that being said, I hope you enjoy my writings and find them insightful.)

Too Bad So Sad

TOO BAD, SO SAD

I am so sad, I can hardly smile
She found me after fourteen years
She said, “It’s been a while”
I thought I had found my girl again
Or rather, she found me
Married she is
But a separation to be
A flame rekindled
And great laughs we shared
One night of blissfulness
For this woman, I dearly care
But…she doesn’t belong to me
A husband unfaithful
Her trust has been torn
A friend in me she wants
And maybe something more
My feelings are high
But expectations are low
A situation at hand
I must take it nice and slow
But…she doesn’t belong to me
Set my self up for heartache
That’s what I’ve done
Put my feelings in front of me
They’re now on the run
Gonna take some time to find em’ again
Because I put them where they don’t belong
Maybe one day she’ll see
How much I care for her
How true I will be
But til that day comes
She doesn’t belong to me Mike Farris Jr. 1/09/09
