Wait No More Poem by Chinonso Uche

Wait No More

We have been waiting, longing and dying to see each other
Yet we could not see each other
The sun rose for days and fell for nights
Yet we could not see each other
The seas and the oceans splashed and make waves
Yet we could not see each other
The cloud wept, wailed and the sun wiped its tears
Yet we could not see each other
The days suddenly woke up and ran like a golden athlete
And when it’s about time for us to see each other
The waiting, longing and dying developed into curious and nervous.
All the months, the weeks and the days
We have waited is about to evaporate
And the few days left for us to see each other
Seems in our eyes like billions of years
We knew we had to continue waiting
For we have already waited One year,3 Months and 27 days.
But divergently, we realized we couldn’t wait no more
For it’s been 482 days of sunrise and fall,
11,568 hours of O’clock(s) ,
694,080 minutes of time and
41,644,800 seconds of great moments,
And after these look over, we accord that
The waiting is over; we have to come together at church
We can’t wait no more.
