Vera Lynn Died Last Night.... Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Mail.o.n.l.i.n.e. in my head,
Queen Elisabeth is very sad
about the death of Dame Vera Lynn.

Who not? !

Her Majesty expresses her deepest condolences
to Family of Forces Sweetheart singer.

Vera Lynn died yesterday at the age of 103,
constantly healthy during her life,
God blesses her, during her World War strife,
during her retired life,
and I am sure after her death
when they meet.

Dame Vera Lynn entertained troops
with her true love of singing,

the Second World War....

Who is not sad about the death
of one of Britain's most beloved entertainers? !

It comes just weeks after Dame Vera talks
about remembering the brave boys
and what she has done during world war 2

and we are still in coronavirus pandemic

Queen Elisabeth referred to the title of her war song
when she told the country in the end:
"We will meet again".

Her Majesty would be very sad
at the news of the death of her old friend Dame Vera.

When writing these repeated lines in my head,
I am also very very sad
I loved her tune,
oh boys,it's still June!
