Us Poem by Amrutha Johnson

Walking forward to the sunset
The waves wipe my footprints
Sand is golden velvet soothing my sole
But inside i hide a sea of embers
burning on, not catching a flame

Life is few moments
of bittersweet feelings
Rest, all the time its just
memories shining on and on

I now hold few of those
treasures in my hand
I have kept it safe inside my soul
for now and always.

I see the sky is sad
the sun is leaving her for the sea
Sea lik a young bride awaits
the sun sparkling in his crimson rays

Its another moment of love and loss
One more chance to forget and remember
I am now both like the widowed sky
and the bashful sea

I am here to let go of all
the tangibles about you
And keep those moments we shared
like glowing embers.

Soothed now and then with a sea breeze, sand and waves,
For tomorrow again the sun will rise
from the sea and adorn the sky
Roles, lives and time will change
Everything that is forgotten will be remembered

And that day i will tell your story
once more, so you will know
I hav become neither the sea, nor the sky.
I am your shadow! We are together
forever, like we promised.
