Power Poem by Amrutha Johnson

Power

Of all the shades and shapes
I found you the most interesting
Of all the gains and pains
I found you the most invested

But you are not found at
The start or at the stop
For, your garb is shed long before
The next journey begins, know it or not.

Fools like flies come to your flame
Love, life and money spilt at your games.
Blood, beauty or blame
your arsenal is the same.

Time and again, time and again
The same play, same place
You stays on, you seeks out
Your next prey, the next fool.

Oh dear power! you are but
of no use up in here!
Where the angels sings
and the demons roar!

Now i wish i could see
your face once again
I wish I could wheel
my cart once again

And then ill never tread your path,
never cross your bridge.
But ill be a child and
look at you and tell, you so ugly!
