Until You Come Poem by Anand Vijaykumar

Until You Come

When you left that fateful day
I could not hold back tears,
I knew you may be on your way,
My mind wandered through my fears.

How many times on rainy nights
I’d see my tear drops fall,
I’d sit under the starry lights
To hear your sweet voice call.

How many times when it was dark
The night was yearning too,
I’d bade my only friend, the lark,
To sing a song for you.

I know she misses me somewhere far
Her heart still aches for me,
So take my love, oh brightest star,
And shine for me to see.

Prayers tell her of my days alone,
Of grief and empty sky
Her touch for long I have not known
But this is not goodbye

A hundred times, a thousands days,
My heart longs for her love
I miss her in so many ways
The twilight gleams above

I wait for you, my very dear
Here for you I remain,
The memories are ever near
Until you come again.
