Unfulfilled Promises Poem by Sandesh Paudyal

Unfulfilled Promises

Rating: 3.5

That magestic flight soaring high
Discarding anything that came by
Full of life, filled for grief
Alas, how could he know, this would be so brief

The mess of wings, the clot and flow
For thrive of life an astonishing blow
Beheaded head, the shut of eye
I stand still as if waiting goodbye

The firing of legs and the final shake
Life was a race he couldn't make
Challenge asked question he couldnt say
To the synonym of peace a huge price to pay

Makes me wonder why are we here
To laugh through the pain others can't bear
And there he lied so dead and cold
His dream to fly miles on hold

Dreaming of sunset when he set to fly
All the promise he made would count a lie

Euphoria of sunrise buried in bin
He will end there with the tears from his keen
And in me
His memory will vanish as if its never been
As if theres a nullity in what I have seen

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was written when I witnessed a tragedy, well it wasn't a tragedy in personal term but the sheer impression of the incident is everlasting. A pigeon managed to get inside my room and somehow got its head slashed by the ruthless blade of the fan.
