Ugly Duckling Poem by Lawrence Kojo

Ugly Duckling

Rating: 5.0

How did Nat Turner get the will to baptize a white man
When slavery had him caged and freedom was far from sight
Where did Nelson Mandela got the zeal to become a president
Right after being released from prison
And if this is how it is, why don't you get the courage little mortal
Hop out that cage and go stunt them monsters
Show them we're all born great
Until fear and trembling enslave us
Rise up! Stitch your winds together and fly
Let them know you are the Ugly Duckling turning into a swan! ! !
