Tying The Knot Poem by Reginald Ruwende

Tying The Knot

To the allure of thy exceptional elegance
The ubiquity of descending ravens
When in descent we descend down a steep descent
Warily watch for virile vultures of virulence
Lest in predatory incursion they ravish away thee
Lest in trance a stumble precedes a tumble
Wearily down memory lane to the spectacle we stroll
Unto this knot unravelable we cleave
Lawfully wedded bone of my bone,
Mother to unborn first born child
Though in descent down a steep descent
To our reprieve merited favour descends
Scrabble not for panic buttons, woman of decency
This life is a cycle replete with many a passing phase
Though ravens will never cease to prowl
Though brickbats will never cease to fall
Though ominous rumblings will ineluctably riffle through
Through torrents in thorny terrains,
We will march on to ZION!
'Amai Shalom',
Prophetic reference to unborn first born child
Poetic prophecy to the peace that awaits
Ours ain't no marriage of convenience nay
But a consecrated covenant sanctioned in heavenly realms
Tying this knot so tight,
So we strangle descending winds of evil
Tying it even much tighter,
So the bliss turns not a blase
Jehovah JAIREH!
In this slide be our guide to our glide
