Twilight Steps Poem by Fiona Davidson

Twilight Steps

Crimson streaks across a pale blue sky
The sun melts over the horizon slowly
Dripping its last rays over our skin

Twilight steps to take the place
Left behind by the days warmth
Drifting gently over the ocean

A chill breeze whispers a path over
The grasses and shrubs between
Trees reaching up to stay the sun

Diamonds appear above our heads
Floating in a perfect dark velvet sky
And the moon peeps out in curiosity
