Trust

What is friendship but a trust built
but it can be broken like a sword with no hilt
and metaphysical blood, much has been spilt
if in a garden, the flowers would wilt

A friendship is of two unknowns
coming together to share something
and if there is no trust, between the two
the reality is they have nothing

A castle can be torn and built up again
but it can’t forever against the lies withstand
The friendship is no longer grand
for its foundations are on quicksand

Poem of the Day

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
