Travel Haiku - Simien Mountains Ethiopia

  outdoing simiens grandeur
Walia ibex's
majestic horns

Simien Mountains
I take a walking stick and
walk like Moses

Gelada baboon
can i try that wide orange
tie you are wearing?

Simien Mountains
assemble wolf, baboon,
Walia ibex, Menelik's bushbuck and - Me

Ethiopian wolf
looks like bobbie we had
long ago was rare too

Ethiopia
February 24,2007: The Simien Mountains are one of Africa's largest ranges, and filled with an extensive network of trails that make it ideal for trekking. Visitors explore from anywhere between a day and a week, and some even travel with mules. Simien Mountains National Park was designated in 1969 and the range was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site ten years later. Within the park are rare species of Ethiopian wolf, Gelada baboon, Walia ibex and Menelik's bushbuck.
