Totipotency. Poem by Hardik Vaidya

Totipotency.

Totipotency.

Stem cells.
The first cell of my body.
Fusion of two halves,
Resulting in a singularity,
Unique.
Common alphabets,
One specific permutation.

Cytokinesis, the splitting.
From one to two,
Two to four,
Four to eight,
Billions.
Delegation of work,
Role, space, authority,
The building of an organisation,
Resulting in my me, the organism.

Orgasmic changes,
Turing insides out,
Gulping the outsides in.
Right from the gut,
To skin, bones
The formation of brain.

The stem cell has long gone.
However the totipotent trait lingers,
Hard wired, deep in the crevasses of matter,
Grey matter.
It ignites like random lightening,
Empowers my mind,
To be what it wants to become.
