Too Much Poem by Ariana Love

Too Much

She stares at him
With blank tear filled eyes
He stares back at her
Full of despise

She knows that their friends
Are just a few steps away
But that doesn't matter
Because they won't stay

Once the door closes
It'll all happen again
A lifetime dream gone wrong
A nightmare that never ends

Giving her a last look
He wraps her in his arm
He turns around to face their friends
They don't see any harm

They say their goodbyes
And then they leave
Laughing and smiling as they go
Again they've been deceived

She closes her eyes
As she hears the door click shut
Waiting for the first blow
Blood from a fresh cut

He knocks her to the floor
And pins her on the ground
He's hurting her like hell
Still, she doesn't make a sound

Then he gives her one hard blow
Right in her left breast
She screams a shrilling scream
Earning another hit to her chest

He slaps her across the face
Growing harder with each time
She can't figure out why he's doing this
Why he's commiting this awful crime

Tears are streaming down her face
She cries out in pain
He just twisted her arm
She knows her boyfriend's insane

As she's lying there
Getting beaten and hurt
All of a sudden
Her brain's on high alert

She's finally realized
She's had enough
She finally gets that
He's being way too rough

He throws her hard against the wall
All that's left is a distorted shape
Yes, she may have realized
But perhaps a bit too late

If only she had known
She was bound to die in his clutch
That sometimes enough
Can be a little bit too much
