Tonight Poem by Tara Danielle Garcia

Tonight

[a poem my best friend wrote for me (she's quite the poet) ]

Tonight there is no need for you to breathe,
Tonight I will draw your air,
And fill your lungs with life and burning fire,
And that little piece of me.

Tonight you are sleeping with angels,
Because I cant be there to protect you from the world.

And when the pain comes, oh and you know it comes, I will shelter you,
Wrap you in angels wings and set you soaring freely: gracefully
Not into clear blue skies, or star studded nights,
But into storm clouds, and the rain for which you so long for.

TONIGHT

Tonight there is no need for the depressing carved frown,
Tonight I will shed your tears, and collect one by one,
The tiny glittering pearls that frost your lashes.

Tonight just know that you are safe as angels hold you protectivly.

TONIGHT

Tonight scars turn into beauty marks, and mascara tears dry in the light,
So for tonight...you are sleeping with angels until...
Until they are ready to set you free

TONIGHT

Tonight you are sleeping with angels,
Until they are ready to give you to me.
