Together Forever Poem by Monalno Kim

Her red eyes showed that she had cried
And her wet face showed how her tears had dried
Her weak body trembled in his arms
And he carried her quietly between old farms
Her lips moaned one word, 'Why? '
But he wouldn't speak, just sigh
He laid her down on the soft hay
And whispered in her ears softly, 'stay, '
'Isabella, I love you and only you'
She gasped as she huddled closer saying, 'me too.'
Kissing her gently on her lips, while she tried
To wipe the tears that showed that he cried
Talking her even close, he said
'Will you marry me, and now we'll wed? '
She smiled and kissed him and that was her reply
'We'll live together, ' he said, 'and die.'
So they got married and stayed together
They lived on an island where trees grew and heather
The weather was serene, and the water was pure
Their love for each other, made the pain of the past cure!
