To Keep Me Poem by Asma Khan

To Keep Me

I still love you deeply
but won't ask you to keep me

And I was never sure to what's the end
stupid heart wasn't ready to even pretend

I survived so many fires but this
you emptied me woth no bliss

Suspended me over fire with a fine thread
as if I was just born, being dead

Why should I put up with this pain?
When only blames that I have to entertain?

Be the love you never received
This is how I taught myself to be deceived
