To Have A Friend Around Poem by A. P. Hancock

To Have A Friend Around

Let's take a trip to Funfair Park, the weather's looking great
You know you like the carousel, and the bumper cars await

We'll ride the Zephyr roll and coast, just like when we were ten
And we will not let one soul know, that we were scared again

We'll sit and watch the children play, enjoy a snowball too
We'll share a cotton candy stick, and visit the petting zoo

We'll ride the train that goes around, then hit the new arcade
We'll try to win a teddy bear, then sip on lemonade

Perhaps we'll see old Buckskin Bill, and get his autograph
You used to love that cowboy guy, he always made you laugh

And when we've done most all we can, we'll watch the sun go down
And once again we'll both be glad, to have a friend around
