A Day With Fun And Friend Poem by A. P. Hancock

A Day With Fun And Friend

Come with me now and let's enjoy, our open air café
We'll change the world some other time, this is our special day

Let's sit and watch the people pass, and laugh of getting old
We'll order up some hot beignets, and watch the scenes unfold

I'll give Maurice some coins to play, a tune on his old sax
You know you like his soulful sounds, they help you to relax

Let's sit where we can watch the boys, who tap dance on the street
And hear the barkers as they call, to tell our fortunes sweet

We'll stroll on down the cobbled way, and watch the painters draw
I'll take you to that little shop, the one you never saw

We'll sit and feed the begging birds, and watch the ships go by
Embrace the warmth of summer rays, dream dreams that fill the sky

And we will do what ere we wish, til no more's left to spend
We'll write it in our memory book, a day with fun and friend
