Thy Name Is Mother Poem by DASHARATH NAIK

Thy Name Is Mother

Rating: 4.8

Thy name is Mother
Born to replace God here on earth
The ocean of unconditional love
Spring of care, affection unlimited
Epitome of sacrifice and devotion
Thy commitment for the family
Unparalleled
The milk of kindness
Flowing in thy heart
Thy lap the realm of eternal peace
Thy words always so soothing
To correct my wrongs
Thy tears to wipe away my blemishes
Thy name is Mother
My muse, my lifeline
My teacher, friend and philosopher My guide for ever!

Thy gave me birth
Brought up with lots of hardship
Stayed starved to feed my belly
Told me stories to build my character
Taught me great lessons of life
Played with me to make me jolly
Nurtured shedding sweat and blood
Rolled tears like flowing rivers
In my sickness
Prayed for my well being & safety
Stood by me all the way
Made journey of my life meaningful
In hard times as well as hey day
Never left my side
Till I left you for ever;

I owe thou a lot, Mother
My source of joy and happiness
My moon and sun
All along my life thou were;
Bless me thy best wishes
I always crave for;
Lull me with your grace
Even here buried in the coffin.

Praying God,
He would protect thou for me;
Thy shall be my Mother
In all my rebirths
I sincerely wish and mean it.

Such a most beautiful poem about Mother. I love my beloved Mom too, but you have written a Tribute so cutest, sweetest and most beautiful. Ther are sounds of regret in this poem, tinge of melancholy, but you have great respect for your beloeved Mother
