Those Gorgeous Eyes Poem by Ave Lilik

Those same gorgeous eyes
-dark as an unfathomable lake
yet twinkling as the evening star-
are finally gazing into mine,
again.

It's been such a long time,
and there's nothing I want
more than swimming greedily
into their sweet serenity,
once more.

But as my feet start running,
My head keeps exclaiming,
'They're out of reach!
and no longer within your limit,
anymore! '
