Everything just seems
to be insignificant
right now-
All that really matters
...
Breathing you
Gets me so high
Am flying up in the sky
So high that I fly
...
Witnessing a miracle
do you have to be incredible?
What if you're just common
is it still possible?
...
Am leaving New York
and you behind
Taking an express route
hoping an easier ride
...
Now that I lit thee:
Thee shall melt
Spread thy scent
to embrace me.
...
Why do we walk away
if we can just stay?
Will life be more ok
just because we sway?
...
At Little Napoly
in Carmel-by-the-sea
Wondering before coffee
if it's always gonna be
...
I went into the room
to see if your presence
has left traces-
on the walls, probably-
...
And the truck is cleaning
picking up stories,
pieces of history,
bits of memory.
...
The idea of loving you
was so bright
it blinded my eyes
thus, I couldn't see.

' Poetry for me is like the air. What is amazing to me is that when I express myself in my poems, others also breathe different feelings, even life into them. This tendency of poetry to change people’s lives forever simply through a pen, pad and a few choice words is an overwhelming reality for me.' Lilik grew up as a farmer's daughter and has spent most of her life in Batu, a small farming town in East Java-Indonesia. She loves traveling, writing and reading poems. As a local English instructor -teaching English as Foreign Language- she has students varied from children, teenagers to adults around East Java. She is also a free-lance interpreter. At the moment, she is again at another stop in her journey- struggling to answer life's never-ending questions.)
Happiness
Happiness to gain
Happiness to win
Will happiness be in vain
if it falls like rain?
Will it drain
or can we sustain?
