This old heart of mine
It just was doin’ fine
Until one look at you
And all at once I knew
That this old heart was falling fast.
It said to me “I’ll never last”.

And so I closed my eyes
And tried to rationalize
That love is just a chance,
A chance for some romance,
A chance that you hang on to
In case it does come true.

Give this heart a chance to revive
So it can stay happy
And feel alive.
Give this heart the time that it’s needin’
To keep it together
And stop the bleedin’

This old heart of mine
It just was doin’ fine.
So babe I’m asking you
Can you feel it too?
I know you’ve got to feel it,
Feel it just like me.
For after all you’ve got it.
Can’t you hear its plea?

Give this heart a chance to revive
