ThisDream Must Go

A dream can never be
more than a shared symphony
lovers create in the here and now:
I had a dream. It was you.
But this Dream Must Go.

My dream became a dream for two
built on shared songs and denizens
of kisses tried on for size
and promises enough to capsize
the wisest of fools.
But unlike my dream you were here when-
but too soon you were gone again.

Is our love only a dream I alone wove?
Is it simply my private treasure-trove?
I don't want to cry anymore or stew
that you; re most often away.
Tears won't make this dream come true
so I won't try to make you to stay
when you only seem to want away.
