Thinest Of Threads Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Thinest Of Threads

You can break my heart
it's too late for me to retreat
from something I can't deny I feel
unlike anything I have felt before

I cry out in the darkness, I need you
do you hear my call?
Will you be the one to love me with your whole heart?
Will you stand by me in the moments of lonliness?

I cannot bear to face life alone anymore
its tearing me apart inside
and if not for just the dream of you
I feel certain I would not survive

This is what I need...
your tenderness, your affection
your kindness, your love, your loyalty,
your smile, your humor, All of you

I can think of 100 things wrong with me
but you will see the things to love
I can feel desperation and sadness
but you wiill wipe my tears

And me..I will love you wiht my broken heart
and you will see that it mends
and I will see you smile again
to know you have found love that is honest

Is this a crazy dream to dream?
I long to feel your arms around me
and our hands feeling for certain that you are in them
I wish this was more than a dream

Tonight I called you in lonliness
not knowing if I was welcome
I can only imagine the feeing of being loved
and to be loved by you is the only love I can imagine.

So I hang on to the thinest of threads of hope.
