This Fall Day Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

This Fall Day

Rating: 5.0

Fall
It's where I want to be
With geese flying in formation
Quacking as they fly in 'V' shapes
The coolness in the air that makes me feel alive
The sun on my face
I want to lose my cares
and think instead about Halloween, Country Fairs,
Hikes, Motorcycle rides, Holding hands, walking
kissing, sharing a cup of coffee on a mountain top
but there is one thing missing
and it hurts a lot somehow today
You!
Your hand would feel so warm and soft in mine
Your face would feel so cool pressed against mine
Today I'm just a lonley man on a Fall day getting ready for Winter
I know I shouldn't be feeling this way.
You never asked me to dream about you
I never meant to
But my heart is trying hard to understand
