There Will Be Liberty

Light
As soft as breeze
Came through the open curtains
The distant sound of waves and seagulls
Woke us up
She slept like a princess
A 150 dollar a night princess

He slid off the bed
Almost naked
Just like the seagulls
In liberty

And looked down the balcony
Overlooking the beach and the nearby sea

Emptiness and the sound of morning
Engulfed his being
He must have been there for a good 15 minutes
The best of the day lay ahead

She hurriedly picked her purse
Took the cash
And left without a word

Another life
He said to the seagulls
Another life
There will be liberty
For me and her
