There's No One Waiting For Me Poem by Lora Colon

There's No One Waiting For Me

Rating: 5.0

I walk rather slowly these days,
Without purposeful destiny,
No plane to catch, no train to board....
There's no one waiting for me

Time and I have said our farewells,
Now I roam unburdened and free,
No need to be home before dark,
There's no one waiting for me

Seasons still change, they come and go,
The tide's still carried out to sea,
Not much has changed at all, except....
There's no one waiting for me

I still talk to the moon at night,
But it's not like it used to be,
No longer do we speak of love,
There's no one waiting for me

It matters not when I get home,
Be it midnight or half past three,
There's no hurry..... did I mention.....
There's no one waiting for me

With heavy heart, I climb the stairs,
(These tears make it so hard to see,)
Saying a prayer, I walk toward my bed.....
But no one's waiting for me

Your poem is full of emotion. My heart aches for you. May you find a good friend at your church or somewhere that you can spend some time with. Or visit someone in a rest home and cheer up her day. Everybody needs someone. Best of luck to you and keep on writing!

absolute gem of a write, Lora, unpretentiously melancholic, yet not losing the breathtaking beauty of your words.

It is obvious. that our dear Lora, whose name sounds so sweet and touching, often write poems that leave us sad for the rest of our lives. It is unfortunate that, while Lora is still alive, she can't see the privilege that she is enjoying..that there is hope as long as there is life. Sometimes in life, we might think no one is watching us, but it may be that someone is watching us but we have actually not noticed. I therefore wish to inform my dearest madam that, she should not think nobody is waiting for her, for what at all do we gain when someone waits for us? Life is full of uncertainty and since we cannot do anything to neither change the past nor the future, lets cheer up today and bear in mind that tomorrow awaits us. beautifully written!

I read these words 2 days ago finding each verse so moving and to want you to know that I bet you bring so much joy to others each day whilst you are just passing with your smile. I wanted to give you a big hug. Then lost my connection. So, , I am back to fill your sweet heart with the same sweet joy you bring to others. Spiritually you are never alone. Fill your room with the brightest of memories and colours and beautiful fragrants. Makes a positive place to lay. xxx

A blind person might share your compliant For he's blind after all and can't see, And most dream of things that can't be, But if happy is just what you ain't, Why not open your eyes and see me. There are times that we all feel alone Makes no diff if we're married or not, But your poems touch other's a lot, Even though we don't talk on the phone, You are not alone and that's no rot!
