There Was A Time Poem by Lora Colon

There Was A Time

Rating: 5.0

There was a time when time didn't matter,
The time before I met you;
I never cast a backward glance,
Each day was just time renewed

There was time to do a lot of things
But none were important before you;
Time was there, and time was mine,
And time always brought something new

There was a time I dreamed a dream
Of a valley where happiness thrived;
I eagerly searched for the hidden path
But time refused to be my guide

Then one day, time brought you to me
And my dream had been fulfilled;
I loved you the moment I saw you,
It was that day that time stood still

Time made you mine, then reclaimed you,
Now I spend my time alone;
Was time envious of our love?
Time has turned my heart to stone

What did I ever do to time,
O, how could it be so cruel?
If time would bring you back to me
I'd respect it and play by its rule

Never will time be the same again,
I'll waste it and curse it, with pleasure,
But I'll always remember my time with you,
Like a jewel in a box, it's my treasure!

an excellent poem Lora! liked it v much........we have no control before time, we have to bow before it and act as per its rules........there are times when we used to b tired running after time, then comes a phase in our life when we have plenty of time n we find ways and means to pass it! that life! a very lovely write about time linking it to your beloved.

Hi Lora, good to here from a fellow Missourian. We cannot stop time. Failure to act may make any action irrelevant, because the time to act has passed. He who hesitates is lost.

Beautiful but sad - time steals so much from us all, but in its fullness can also bring things to us which we never expected.
