There Are Writers I Miss Poem by Shalom Freedman

There Are Writers I Miss

There are writers I miss
Once a long time ago
They were my friends-
I spent days and nights with them
Knowing their innermost thoughts-
But now I am far from them
I do not read them anymore
I remember them vaguely
And miss them-
I tell myself I will go back to them
But I waste my time on other things
I do not go back to them-
I miss them
And the vague memory of them
And the exact recall of a small sample of their words
Make me wish we could spend more time together again-
