The World At War On Christmas: Poem by Gert Strydom

The World At War On Christmas:

On Christmas day 1931

(in answer to I. D. du Plessis)

Nations have appointed dictators as leaders with authority,
but when Christmas Day came they prayed and called on Emanuel,
they took each other on in a great blood-bath,
one even tried to decimate all Jewish people from earth,
they riled people up and spoke about each other,
with graves and more graves and death everywhere,
with hellish destruction just where a person can see,
they dragged civilians and solders right through hell
but when Christmas day came they prayed and called on Emanuel.

Christmas day 2022

Even criminals are hired as Wagner mercenaries,
Patriarch Kirill says that You my God, do send them out,
as Russia do invade the Ukraine in a so-called operation,
while guns, rockets, howitzers kill innocent people,
for children, women and men it's their last hour,
while brave soldiers fight back against overwhelming numbers,
humanly cling to God, a family and a wife,
on Christmas day Russians laugh in Your face while they keep spilling blood,
Patriarch Kirill says that You my God, do send them out,
