The World At Our Feet. Poem by Pal Eternity

The World At Our Feet.

Our men in blue,
made a billions' dream come true,
winds of euphoria flew,
Lankans who did not breathe, were the few.

Eyes were glued to the screen,
nail-biting as we watched them fighting.
With clinched fists,
screamt and sighed at twists,
Without a blink,
we did not let hope sink.

They fielded like tigers,
their bats run triggers,
with superb bowling figures.
They maintained the aggressive flow,
even after an early blow.

The epic battle was in our territory,
Our warriors lifted the trophy!
Yes! Our warriors lifted the trophy!
I was there in the proudest moment of history,
when occured like pause of infinity and eternity,
before the grand patriotic party.

The nation came on to the streets,
tongues speaking and tasting sweets,
happiness sounded through beating of drums.
Sparks painted the sky, suffused us with glory,
dancing and merry making in frenzy,
nothing let us feel drowsy! !

Yes! Our warriors lifted the trophy.
A diamond moment in history.
