The Wonderful Color Poem by Srivishnu Rentala

The Wonderful Color

If you scan the Earth at one quick glance,
You're sure to find yourself in a trance,
As what strikes effectively on our eye at first,
Is the color of the fluid that quenches our thirst.
From the sweet blueberries to the sky so calm,
We'll definitely find the color of aplomb.
Pop-tarts, Popsicle and the big blue whale,
The neck of a peacock or the shell of a sea snail,
The mighty Lord Rama or the precious sapphire,
There are uncountable things that this color can acquire.
Cerulean, Viridian, Cyan and Periwinkle,
Help an assortment of odds to shine and twinkle.
Without this tint it would be so dull,
As the sky and the ocean would look absolutely null.
A Spix's macaw would just wipe away our grin,
Without the shade that adorns its skin.
Or without its color, the Morpho butterfly
Would help us in releasing a sorrowful sigh.
Without it, as you can see, the world around us,
Would've been bland and starved of purpose.
I'm pretty much sure that you've guessed the right hue
By reading this poem, deprived of any clue.
Indeed it is certainly very true,
the color that amazes me the most is the shade of blue.
