The Wishing Star Poem by Marcus McKinley

The Wishing Star

I'll view the stars in your eyes
And clip times wings if it should fly
Losing track of the monotony of days
Upon the sands of time we'll play

Spending each moment like there's no tomorrow
Bodice free and hair unfurled
Rousing in octaves to a final aria
Raining love upon the world

Sparking hearts like concert lighters
Under a billion stars on high
And in the darkness your spirit shimmers
I see only one star in my eyes
