The Walk Poem by Cary Rodgers

The Walk

Life is, but a walk leaving no footprints behind
Leaving broken hearts shadowed only in the sands of time
So I tell you a tale not of love in bittersweet words
Pass between one another
That crash the foundation of what we stand upon
Believing that true love will stay true
Not seeing the dark shadows
That makes our attempts insignificant
A simple feeling that brings misery and defeat
To say I have a dark mind would be a lie
Because love is dark you cannot see light when you're blind
So I reach out my hand....because like my footprints I will not leave you behind
Because love is worth it all
No matter how insignificant or small
