The Voice Poem by Randy McClave

The Voice

The voice unto me then said
Pretty soon you will be dead,
When you leave this world do not be mad
But, instead be happy and glad.
Don't leave this world with hate and a fist
Because God has you on a list,
Of everything that you have said and done
Underneath the moon, and the clouds and the sun.
When you have lied, stolen and cheated
Hell's fire was then stoked and reheated,
And when you walked happily down sin's path
The Devil then did joyfully laugh.
Don't head for that fiery pit
Always remember to forgive and then to forget,
As Jesus had forgotten and forgave
The ones who tortured then sent him to the grave.
One statement is always true
Do unto others, as you want done unto you,
And when you have cheated, sinned and lied
You will never find true peace, or God inside.
Remember forgiveness is always a two way street
Where the hurt and enemies will always meet,
When you are saddened and spiritual driven
Forgive, and you will then be forgiven.
I now say unto you to be joyous and not sad
Don't keep the sins that you once spoke and had,
Tonight when you go back to your bed
Remember, pretty soon you will be dead.
