The Tale Of Ignorance Poem by chize ryan ogunkah

The Tale Of Ignorance

Rating: 5.0

Hi
I am ignorance
Do I need an introduction as I make the hall of fame for the most unpopular?
This is my story

From the heights of the Kilimanjaro
To the depths of the Niagara falls
My contempt is known

For the nefarious acts of hypocritical hillbillies
And the trauma caused by obvious faults
I am tried the same

I bear the guilt of modern mankind
Within the bosom of my essence

And crucified again and again
by progenitor and progenies alike

The weight of the wrath wrought by nonchalance, hate and acrimony
is on my back just like the proverbial African beast of burden

The beat of my heartis marred
by the stripes and strokes of prejudicial profiling
and the sour and painful taste of the "strange fruit"

As I walk bowed in unmerited shame
before mankind's assembly

In my defence,
I plead not guilty and I urge posterity
To rule with a verdict of wrongly usedand corniness
As I await my fate
In the hands of time
