The Sweet Monsoon Poem by Srivishnu Rentala

The Sweet Monsoon

Drops of heaven drenched the deserts,
with a swift swipe swiveled the scorch away.
The air around scented with love,
as puddles of joy splashed above.
Pitter patter, they battered the roof
showering as shiny ice diamonds.
Streams so silky coursed astray,
through the mire and filth of the road.
A small paper boat paddled its way
unperturbed by the voracious rain.
Children of all ages frolicked outside
as angry mothers cooed in vain.
Readily soaking the heavenly pleasure,
they caught common cold casually.
Flowers bloomed and danced in glee
as the water fondled its face.
While the birds perched atop a tree,
snuggled in a warm embrace,
The cold chilly breeze swished in delight
knowing that this was its day.
Every form of live that lived
cherished the monsoon spree;
As if on cue, the clouds parted ways
halting its blissful deluge.
Just as this play of Mother Nature
reached a magnificent crescendo,
The ever so vibrant rainbow,
like the cherry on my sundae
elegantly ended the escapade.
