The Sound In My Ear Poem by Julianna A. Laplante

The Sound In My Ear

Is it a ring? or is it a buzz?
It is almost supersonic.
It becomes greater when I lay,
And doesn't occur every day.
Ring. Buzz. It won't go away.

What causes this phenominon?
I'm not a doctor so I don't know,
I think my ear has broken somehow,
The sound is getting mighty loud.
If I turn upside down, does it grow?

I probably only have a few days to live,
So I am not going to bother to worry,
But before I hurt more, I better hurry.
'Mom! my ear! it is ringing! I'm dying! '
'If that is so I think you are lying'

Well I think I will die, so if I am lying,
At least my fight was one worth trying.
