The Rule Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Rule

The Rule

The rule that was broken,
Was just as good that was put together.
It made people wince
That we needed rules.

We want to be free, said the people
But the rules kept growing instead.
The children broke rules constantly
And had much fun doing that.

But they also suffered for it
Because it was the nature of broken rules.
The rule that was broken,
Was just as good that was put together.
