The River Cries/Weeps Poem by Mark Heathcote

The River Cries/Weeps

The river cries/weeps, circling the moon at night
I can't reach I can't find a way to your ocean
The river cries, silver stone
I've smashed into every wall
I've crash over every mountain
So what stands in my way?
I want to serpentine your languid valleys
I want to fill every unchartered crater,
Smooth them over with mercury from a star
The river cries I will evaporate, I will rise
And arch like a rainbow,
Fall like a waterfall on your shore
You're all I now long-for.
