The Right Equation Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Right Equation

I have been loved
I have been rejected
I have been elevated above
The rest and also been castigated
Too much love can be sweetly deadly
Just as too much saccharin, sucrose
In one's blood stream. Give me the right dose
Give me enough to defeat my envy
Too little love can be devastating
Kiss me gently as many times as you want
Calm me down, mollify my rant
And appease me like the breeze of last year's spring.

I have been loved
I have been rejected
Put a light fire on the stove
To warm up the decaffeinated
Coffee, pour a spoon of honey in the cup
And a little bit of organic fat-free milk on top
Stir it as much as you want to be appreciated
So I can fully comprehend you
So both of us will know better
How to disseminate pleasure to each other
Whether the clouds paint the sky gray or blue
Let's drink from the same straw
So the curious world can draw
The obvious conclusion
That we have finally found the right equation.
