The poem I wanted to write
Had words I could not find
And meanings I did not know
And a beauty beyond any sound
I knew myself capable of
It was a poem I had heard from others
Many times
And loved to hear
But which somehow
I with all my efforts and years
Could not and cannot write
Light light for the poem I could not write
And for the life I tried to write it with.
