The Pain Of Ahuman Being In The World Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Pain Of Ahuman Being In The World

The pain of a human being
Doesn't really mean much
In this world -

There is so much pain-

One screams here
In the middle of the night
And countless others
Scream elsewhere-

There is so much pain

There is no point in even beginning
To catalogue all the pain
There is Mercy and help and Kindness and Medicine
In the world also-

Still there is so much pain-

The pain of a human being
A single human being
May mean the whole world to them-

But there is so much pain in the world
The pain of another human being
Does not mean much in the world.

There is too much of the Universe
