The Original Poem by Patricia Gale

The Original

Rating: 5.0

The original letter she had used as a flame starter
To ignite the embers of star lit night
Kindling the warmth, replacing him

Engrossed in watching the ashes float toward the sky
She released the love she held for him
Until she thought it was final

Days passed by when she recalled
The copy she held in her heart
The one that would forever burn

Lovely explanation of that finality of throwing away the last remnant of a love lost. But we can never eradicate our memories, those are the story of our life. Lovely piece. love and hugs Ernestine XXX
