Autumn Winds

The Moonless Dark

The quiet night

The whispered sounds

And unknown fright

The shadows move

And kiss the sky

Forever moving

In endless night

You cannot see

So close your eyes

For in the light

You're bound by sight

And in the dark

You're finally free

So in the dark

It's just you and me

While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
