The Moon And The Stars Poem by Pearl L Johns

The Moon And The Stars

On a wild and beautiful night
beneath the lushness of the full moon
and the sparkle of a million stars
my lover and I sail across the water.
An adventure he calls it
he brushes his hand across my brow
intently staring into my eyes
as if to see my secret thoughts and desires
that i house behind my eyes.
And says he wants to give me the
moon and the stars.
As the sheets tautly trim the sails
we seem to fly through the sea silently.
We lie upon the deck content
to let the current take us where it may.
My lover lays across me and covers my lips with his
in an embrace as only lovers know.
With a low growl from deep in his throat
and a sigh from mine
he removes our clothes
and enters me with one quick thrust.
My body is ready with an ache that yearns
to be fullfilled.
Our bodies rock to the motion
of the music of the sea.
As our bodies peak together at the same time
and his essence fills mine
we cry out one another's name
not wanting to let go of the moment
we lie there in one another's arms
watched only in the night
by the moon and the stars.
