The Mohajirs Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Mohajirs

Why do you call them
The Mohajirs,
Mohajirs,
Who are they
And even if are,
Why did they,
For what chimera
And utopia?

They are the immigrants,
The migrants
From the different parts of India
To Pakistan
Speaking different dialects
Of their own,
The Mahajirs or Mohajirs.

They too are men,
Are men
But migrated from immigrants
Who went away
Leaving their places,
But cannot,
Cannot denied rights
Though may be refugees, displaced people.
